Leeds Children's Mayor Candidate: Harehills Primary School

Name: Hasan Ali
School: Harehills Primary School
Slogan: Feel heard, be heard
If I were Children’s Mayor in Leeds, I would improve the chances of the community and school children to voice their opinions. How would you feel if nobody listened to you?
I don’t suppose enough people are being heard since I was a school councillor myself last year. I personally believe that if everyone was being heard, all the children would be fine.
Furthermore, I think that the idea of letting everyone voice their suggestions will make a big impact to the community and to the children themselves.
It would be a very low-cost project since the only things you will need are a few people that are trusted to gather information from children around the school about what they may need so that they will be able to voice their opinions.
It will also boost their self-confidence and improve their future because they will be able to announce their ideas to the general public.
It will benefit everyone as they wanted to improve their life at schools and everywhere they go. If everyone enjoys this system, they will be eager to go to school and that will benefit their attendance too.
Also, they will be involved for the reason that they will know that their ideas have been heard and therefore be willing to give more ways to improve the environment around them such as:
Cleaning litter.
Help in learning.
Caring for the elderly.
Improving school meals and the number of children having school meals and free school meals.
It would truly, truly make a difference to the atmosphere of the city by changing the way everyone learns because it will possibly be more fun and everyone is going to be there for you.
Elect me to make a child friendly Leeds. Let the children of Leeds feel heard, let them be heard!
