You are here: ...>What's on at...>Www>Www>Days Out - Su...>Let's make Le...We want Leeds to be a child friendly city. A child friendly city is somewhere that children and young people feel safe, and where they are involved and informed with what goes on. Children and young people's voices are listened to, and services, places and spaces created the way they want them.Child friendly cities are welcoming places, where people are treated equally. The idea was started by UNICEF and Leeds City Council, its partners and businesses in Leeds have taken it on as an important issue and will strive to make Leeds a better place for you.
This is an exciting ambition for our city. It's a really big project, so we've identified five themes to help us.
During the summer we asked you at Breeze on Tour, and online, about what was important to you, and what you thought would make Leeds a better place for young people to live and grow up. Along with this information we gathered up all the things you have told us in other surveys too. We shared this information with all the people who want to work with us to make Leeds a child friendly city, we looked at the main things you said and we came up with 12 priorities. We then went back to Leeds Youth Council who helped us put them together in a clear and meaningful way. Read about our priorities and what they will mean to you.

You can read the Leeds Youth Council blog to find out their thoughts and opinions on Child Friendly City and how they have been involved. Here are some of your thoughts about Leeds from the summer at Breeze on Tour.
All the partners involved in Child Friendly City are working together to let other people know about the important issues to children and young people and how to make Leeds a better place for them. We are working with all sorts of people and groups across the city to encourage them to make pledges to state how they can each help make Leeds 'child friendly' and support the priorities.
You might not have had chance to have your say during the summer consultation but we still want to hear what you think. On this page, below, you can tell us what you think about Leeds, what you think would make it better or if you have any ideas for pledges which your school could do or a local business.
Leeds already has a whole host of things going on for young people to get involved with. Why not have try some of the links below to find out more...
