Breeze International Youth Festival - About BIYF

Breeze International Youth Festival (BIYF) year round arts programme

Are you 13-19 years old and living in Leeds? The Breeze International Youth Festival takes place every year to showcase YOUR talent!

BIYF presents the best performances from young people across Leeds, and over the last 13 years we’ve seen over a quarter of a million young people attending the festival. Performances include an open air stage on Briggate and showcases at the Carriageworks Theatre. BIYF attracts the best youth dance companies, community groups and performers from across Leeds.

As well as working with young people from Leeds, BIYF has hosted students from all over the world including South Africa, China, Pakistan, New Zealand, America and Europe.

Here's what some participants and audience members have said:

“Breeze broadens your horizons, you are made to think about other cultures and get interesting ideas” Festival Participant

“A really wide variety of dance, music, age and experience. Great stuff”

“Fantastic 10 out of 10 really enjoyed the night! Would love to come again”

“Absolutely brilliant, diverse. Showed the power of young people in sending a message to us old folks”

BIYF aims to create new work and activity throughout the year.
