BTs Big Voice

Date: 17 May 2012
The Big Voice Festival, Sunday 20th May 2012, 1 - 4pm, Millenium Square, Leeds.
BT’s Big Voice comes to an exciting conclusion for this region with the Big Voice Festival on Sunday 20th May 2012 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm in Millennium Square, Leeds. Paralympic Gold medallist Lee Pearson will join the event to congratulate the young people who have taken part in the Big Voice competition and inspire everyone to be the best they can be. Laura Rawlings of BBC Radio Leeds is hosting the event.
The giant Live Site screen in the Square will be showing short films made by students as part of BT’s Big Voice competition. The films tackle issues such as litter, bullying, civic pride, disability and discrimination, recycling and bridging the generation gap. The students who made the films will be present to see their films on the big screen and receive awards on stage.
In addition, there will be live performances from young singers, dancers, musicians and athletes and a number of local youth organisations and charities will be promoting the work they do. Activities kick off from 12 with the formal programme running from 1pm.
Breeze Leeds has helped to put this programme together and their BAM vans (Breeze Arts and Music Vans) will be there throughout the day. These are equipped to run workshops in video and music production.
Entry is free and open to all and it promises to be a brilliant day out.
