Volunteers needed to join mass dance at Olympic Torch Celebrations at Temple Newsam

Join a mass dance experience on 24 June at Temple Newsam, as part of the City’s Olympic torch celebrations. It’s a once in a lifetime event and an opportunity  to be part of the Olympics in Leeds.

On Sunday 24 June at Temple Newsam park, Leeds is celebrating the visit of the Olympic Torch to the city in a sparkling event which is one of only four special city celebrations across the country. As we welcome the Torch to the stage, it promises to be an unforgettable evening. The event will buzz with the magic of the 2012 Olympics, showcase some of the city’s amazing talent and create a mass participation experience that’s never been seen before!

It’s fun, it’s easy to learn and it’s all about taking part!

Space2, a Leeds based arts organisation has been commissioned to recruit 1962 enthusiastic Leeds residents to join 50 young dancers – that’s 2012 Leeds folk - to perform as part of the City’s dance showcase and Olympic torch celebrations. To take part you need to sign up for one of our Big Dance workshops.

No previous dance experience is needed. The dance is fun to learn and designed to be performed by anyone, regardless of age and ability.
