We are now reading Cosmic by Frank Cottrell Boyce

Celebrated author and screenplay writer Frank Cottrell Boyce visited Leeds during the Breeze Young People’s Film Festival to talk about his brilliant new book, Cosmic.

What’s Cosmic all about?

Although Liam is only 11 and just about to start High School, he has started to grow facial hair, is unusually tall for his age and is often mistaken for an adult. Liam and his celebrity obsessed friend Florida Kirby capitalise on this by posing as father and daughter at the local shopping centre. Things start to go a bit too far when it involves test driving a Porsche, being mistaken for a new school teacher and winning a competition to travel into space...

Cosmic is the perfect summer read. It’s laugh out loud funny but also makes you think about things like the relationship between parents and children and growing up and having to take responsibility for your actions, as well as being responsible for other people.

Liam describes all his favourite things as Cosmic. This book isn’t just cosmic; it’s out of this world!

Borrow the book from the library, read it and tell us what you think.

You can check to see which libraries have the book by looking at:

You can also reserve it online

There will soon be a reading guide to Cosmic and are already guides to Frank’s other books, Millions and Framed at:
