Wanted - 12 young people to plan the 2017 child friendly Leeds Awards

The child friendly Leeds awards take place every year and young people are at the heart of them.

Planning, organising, presenting and running the awards (including operating the lights and sound and offering front of house and backstage support).
We're looking for 12 young people to be members of the young people’s planning group, with the awards taking place on Thursday 2 February 2017. You should be aged between 11–19 years old (or 25 if you have additional needs) and live in Leeds.


When applying for a place, you must be able to commit to attending sessions every Thursday, after school, 4:30–6pm) from 6 Oct–2 Feb where possible. You will get a break for October half term and Christmas holiday as no sessions will run then.


The sessions take place in Leeds city centre, run by City Varieties Learning Team who have a lot of experience of working with young people around drama/events and theatre. There is a short application form here  - and the closing date to apply is Friday 9 September.
