Rugby World Cup Fanzone

Watch all the pride and passionrwctrophy.jpg of the Rugby World Cup 2015 in our official Fanzone. Matches are being shown on the big screen in Millennium Square so join the party and cheer on your team with 4000 friends.
The Fanzone kicks off Friday 18 September with the Rugby World Cup opening ceremony closely followed by England v Fiji it is set to be the biggest celebration of rugby union this side to Twickenham. Come and see if Stuart Lancaster’s men can hold back the Fijian heavyweights. 
The Fanzone is open from 18 September - 10 October (closed 9 October for Light Night)
Core opening times:
◾11am to 8pm* (Mon – Sat)
◾11am to 7pm (Sun)

*10pm for late games
You’ll find more than just matches on the big screen there will also be a licensed bar, street food, demonstrations from local clubs and innovative theatre productions from Slung Low and Tangled Feet. It is too big to miss.
The Fanzone is also home to the “Rugby Activity Zone” where fans can have fun on inflatables that teach proper tackling and passing techniques without bumps and bruises. Schools and universities are coming down to grab themselves a first-class introduction. At these times the Rugby Activity Zone will not be open to the public
The Rugby Activity Zone starts at midday, but is only open to the public at select times. See document for times and dates.
Other special events taking place in the Fanzone include “This Girl Can” encouraging more women to forget their inhibitions and get fit while taking up a new sport.

The Bumbles, the only team of their kind in the country, will be promoting disability awareness and social inclusion in sport. A mixed ability team, they regularly play full contact rugby union against able bodied teams and they’ll be calling for more teams to form across the country.
Rugby Songs is Slung Low’s production – an immersive experience focusing on the history of the game across the world. Touring local rugby union clubs, starting at West Park Leeds RUFC on Friday 7 August the tour culminates in the Fanzone on Wednesday 30 September.
Tangled Feet are doing something extraordinary for their production - Collective Endeavour. With 300 volunteers, one for each of the starting players in the tournament, they’re celebrating the power of teamwork and proving that anything can be achieved when there’s strength in numbers.​
