Prince's Trust Team Programme - Seacroft, Leeds

Currently recruiting for the next Team which is due to start on Monday 9th January 2017, ages 16 - 25.
The programme is for twelve weeks, based at Deacon House in Seacroft and runs 9.30 – 3.30 Monday to Friday.
Programme runs as seven distinct units, starting with:
Week 1 – Induction and getting to know the rest  of the Team, lots of ice breakers. (planning for personal progression).
Week 2 – Residential (Teamwork), we spend 4 days and 3 nights in a beautiful 300 year old mill in Cumbria, we take part in activities such as canoeing, mining, abseiling from a viaduct, cooking for each other. Which encourages so many skills required in life and work.
Weeks 3 – 6 Community Project (Community Skills). Over the 4 weeks the Team will find, evaluate, fundraise, plan and complete a community project. Previous examples are building a patio at a resource hub for disabled users to allow use of the outdoor space plus raising over £400.00 for St George’s Crypt.
Weeks 7&8 – Work placement (Work Experience). We work with the young person to tailor the a suitable 2 week work placement for them to complete, there is support throughout the placement to enable the young people to have an amazing experience.
Week 9 – Next Steps (Career Planning). What next is the question that we ask the young people, where do they want to go? How are they going to get there? By the end of the week each young person will have been actively applying for work, courses or apprenticeships , have a strong and up to date CV, also taken part in a role play interview and evaluated the feedback.
Week 10 &11 – Team Challenge (Supporting Others) The part of the programme is where the Team identify a group within the community, would benefit from some form of help or support. The Team would plan and design the support, which could be a social gathering for an elderly group to help prevent social isolation.
Week 12 – Final Presentation (Presentation Skills) The Team present a magazine and give a presentation to an invited audience to celebrate their journey, using design programme, music, visual aids and slideshows.
