Opera North Children's Chorus

The Opera North Children's Chorus are looking for new members!
The Opera North Children’s Chorus (ONCC) provides boys and girls aged 8–14 from across the North of England with exciting opportunities to further their musical education and talent through the support of a professional opera company.

Expert training and guidance provided through weekly rehearsals enables children to develop outstanding vocal technique and musicianship skills whilst making new friends and developing a life-long love of singing. Members will also have the opportunity to work with professional directors and movement specialists to develop skills in drama and stagecraft.

"I have loved my time and experience with ONCC. I’ve made lots of friends and learnt to sing in different languages."

Members perform throughout the year both locally and nationally alongside professionals such as the Opera North Orchestra and Chorus. The Children’s Chorus is proud to have previously performed at Spitalfields Music Winter Festival with The Sixteen. Repertoire includes both secular and sacred music from a variety of genres, with a particular focus on classical music/opera.

"My child has made friends from different areas and really looks forward to attending each week, learning new music and being taught to achieve their absolute best."
