Harry Potter: A History of Magic

Journey to where magic and myth began with Harry Potter: A History of Magic at Leeds Central Library.

Have you ever wanted to delve into Divination, ponder the peculiarities of Potions and discover magical creatures? Now you can. In partnership with the British Library, Leeds Central Library will be capturing the traditions of folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter stories. Delving deep into our archives to bring you a display of magical treasures and tales from your local area, celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone with Leeds Libraries.

We are also excited to reveal our Herbology Room curated by The Plant Room, a space filled with botanical illustrations and extraordinary plants inspired by the magical plants in the Harry Potter stories.

There will be activities for all ages including:

• Magical classes delivered by the Youth Theatre in Divination, Defence Against the Dark Arts and Dumbledore's Army
• Fortune Telling from Mr Marjoram and the Herbal Tarot
• Lo & Vee selling their own unique and magical artwork and gifts
