DJ School UK BIG Music Project 2015-16

For the second year running, we are delivering The Big Music Project in Leeds!

DJ School UK are looking for ten young people aged 16-24 to take part in an exciting year long BIG music project with UK Youth and Capital FM. You will deliver inspiring music projects in your community – and get loads of exciting opportunities.

As well as supporting you to develop your music skills and knowledge, we will help you to work as Champions helping others get started with DJ or Music Technology skills. You get access to our fully equipped studio in Leeds City Centre.
Last year we met the likes of Chase & Status, Eliza Doolittle and Plan B so you could get the chance to meet famous artists and music industry professionals if you take part.
We want people to
• have an interest in music (in particular DJing and music production)
• be committed and motivated to see their project through to completion
• want to make a difference in their community
• be interested in working towards accredited outcome
The benefits from taking part in the project include:
• Developing employability skills and accessing work related opportunities
• Priority access to FREE high profile events featuring opportunities to engage with the music industry and related trades/ professions - plus performances by well-known artists
• Opportunity to enter the Next BRIT Thing competition, where young people record and upload tracks and gain advice from industry experts
• Work placement opportunities via the On Track programme which creates pathways into the music industry.
