It's back for 2017! Time to audition...


 

About Breeze Has Talent Auditions
We will are holding a day of auditions on Saturday 15th July 2017 at White Rose Shopping Centre, from 11am - 5pm.
A panel of expert judges will select the top acts to go forward to compete in heats during Breeze on Tour. The chosen acts from the heats will to go forward to the Breeze has Talent 2017 final later in the year.

What are the judges looking for?
They will be scoring all acts for originality, stage presence and technique – so get practicing!
 
The Prizes
The winner of Breeze has Talent will perform live on stage at the Leeds Christmas Lights switch on later this year! The winners will also receive prizes worth £300* - the 2nd Place act will receive prizes worth £200* - and the 3rd Place act will receive prizes worth £100*.
*Leeds City Council is unable to offer prizes in cash. What we can do – and this is where we can really help you in your performing career – is to help buy you the things you need as a performer. This could be things like buying items of musical equipment, stage costume, paying for rehearsal space or time in a recording studio, paying for a dance teacher or singing coach, putting together a website, or even travel and tickets to performances – almost anything that will help you with your performing ambitions!

The Auditions
Auditions will be held at White Rose Shopping Centre on Saturday 15th July 2017 from 11am.

At the audition you will be asked to perform in front a panel of three (very friendly) judges.
Your performance should last NO MORE than five minutes.

You can invite your family and friends to watch you and support you while you perform.

And finally…
Breeze has Talent is open to ALL young people living within the Leeds Metropolitan boundaries and aged between 8 – 18. This includes any young people who have taken part in previous Breeze has Talent competitions. If an act has members living outside Leeds, we will accept the application providing at least half the members are from within the Leeds area.
Please remember: the aim of Breeze has Talent is to offer young performers the chance to develop skills and confidence by taking part in a friendly competition that we hope is fun but also challenging  –  it isn’t just about winning!

 

2016 Breeze Has Talent a recap!

They came.

They rocked.

They conquered.

Our amazing Breeze Has Talent Finals night on Sunday 2nd October 2016 was a feast of entertainment from amazing young, local talent.

Our winner with first place was vocalist/rapper Cole Lawton-Challenger. Congratulations Cole! As part of his prize Cole performed at the Leeds Lights Switch-On 2016.

In second place was vocalist/guitarist Becky Holmes, and unusually we had joint third places with dancer Hermione O'Hara and vocalist Millie Cranston.

About the Competition

The Prizes

The Auditions and Heats

A panel of expert Judges will select the top acts from the first stage auditions.  From there these acts will move to the next stage and perform at the Heats at Breeze on Tour during August. Again the acts will be judged and scored on originality, stage presence and technique.  Our finalists will then be announced and they will perform in the Finals at the Northern Ballet Theatre in October later in the year.

Please remember: the aim of Breeze has Talent is to offer young performers the chance to develop skills and confidence by taking part in a friendly competition that we hope is fun but also challenging – it isn’t just about winning!
