Breeze has Talent 2016

The Finals!

They came.

They rocked.

They conquered.

Thanks to everyone who took part in our amazing Breeze Has Talent Finals night on Sunday 2nd October, what a feast of entertainment from amazing young, local talent.

Our winner with first place was vocalist/rapper Cole Lawton-Challenger. Congratulations Cole! As part of his prize Cole will perform at the Leeds Lights Switch-On 2016.

In second place was vocalist/guitarist Becky Holmes, and unusually for this year we had joint third places with dancer Hermione O'Hara and vocalist Millie Cranston.

Everyone who took part was fantastic, and our judges Chris Bates – Leeds College of Music, Nicola Greenan – East Street Arts and Jerome Wilks – Phoenix Dance had a tough, tough job. Thanks guys, rather you than us!

So, thank you everyone who auditioned, attended the heats and got through to the final of Breeze Has Talen 2016... take a bow!

About the Competition

The Prizes

What are the prizes? The winner of Breeze has Talent will perform live on stage at the Leeds Christmas Lights switch on! The winners will also receive prizes worth £300* - the 2nd Place act will receive prizes worth £200* - and the 3rd Place act will receive prizes worth £100*.

The Auditions and Heats

A panel of expert Judges will select the top acts from the first stage auditions at the Kirkgate Market Event Space in June.  From there these acts will move to the next stage and perform at the Heats at Breeze on Tour during August. Again the acts will be judged and scored on originality, stage presence and technique.  Our finalists will then be announced and they will perform in the Finals at the Northern Ballet Theatre in October.

Please remember: the aim of Breeze has Talent is to offer young performers the chance to develop skills and confidence by taking part in a friendly competition that we hope is fun but also challenging – it isn’t just about winning!
